is never affraid of enemies.
Anybody who dares to oppose
the Nationalist Army, will be passing a death sentence on himself. Why? Because the forces of the enemy have
never been in touch with the people but are indeed entirely
out of sympathy with them. Therefore they were defeated
in every battle. Our forces are composed of the people
and are therefore the people's own forces. It was for
this reason that we won wherever we fought. It has
now been resolved at the Military Conference that when the
South-eastern region has been tranquilized, we must
work hard to get the huomintang work carried out among
the troops, so as to convert them into proper ammies
of the people. After all, our war in Chekiang is not
a part of that we have just waged, but it is distinctly
another northern expedition that we have begun. The
difficulty and hardship we have experienced are not all
over for us, and we have also the present crisis to cope
with. I hope all our Comrades will exert themselves in
war as well as in propaganda, and we must make the masses
understand that the defeat of the Revolutionary Army will
mean their own destruction. If we make up our minds to
work together, we shall be able easily to overthrow militarism and Imperialism, and establish a strong Chinese
Republic. This is the sum of my military report.
But I have one more thing to tell you, and that
九点 has to do with the tragedies at Hankow and Kiu-kiang,
the details of which you must have all read in the Press.
The British Ambassador has now sent his Counsellor to
Hankow to negotiate with us. We have had a Committee
for the Administration of the Concession organised,
consisting of the Foreign Minister and the Ministers of
Finance and Communication. As to the result, we have
